和看之前的想象差不多,《死者》前2/3是很好改編的。生動(dòng)暗諷的對(duì)話,聚餐、舞會(huì)、音樂(lè),電影的視聽(tīng)藝術(shù)把原著中無(wú)法感知(但又非常需要具像化體驗(yàn))的部分呈現(xiàn)出來(lái),聽(tīng)到《盛裝待嫁》和《奧芙里姆的少女》很滿足,歌詞都太美了,原文里只有節(jié)選的歌詞,前者甚至沒(méi)有歌詞。
相比之下,后1/3簡(jiǎn)直是改編災(zāi)難,但問(wèn)題在于,怎么表現(xiàn)喬伊斯詩(shī)一般的語(yǔ)言?怎么展現(xiàn)人物的意識(shí)流和內(nèi)心獨(dú)白?喬伊斯用詩(shī)的語(yǔ)言呈現(xiàn)加布里埃爾對(duì)愛(ài)情和婚姻煽情的、濫情的回憶和想象,在格麗塔對(duì)一個(gè)為自己而死的男孩的敘述面前
