The Selkup people live on the banks of the Taz River in the Tamil Peninsula. They are fishermen and hunters. The film records the nomadic life of Yuri Karin's family. Finnish ethnographer Kai Donner is the father of director J ? rn Donner and the producer of this film, who describes the language and culture of Selkupus. His works, as well as the books of Freud and Jung, and the music of Meredith Monk, are various sources of inspiration for filmmakers in their new explorations, attempting to capture the extraordinary detachment behind rituals and the traditional way of life closely connected to the forest.
